As I get closer and closer to receiving the rights back for Puck’s Choice and Jenna’s Story, the first two novels in the Shifters & Mages series, I keep thinking about a publishing plan for Puck’s Choice.
So, below is everything I’ve thought of (so far) for my publishing plan. If you are an indie author and have anything to add, please feel free to let me know. If you have any questions about what I plan to do and why, feel free to ask. I promise, I don’t bite.

I will be updating this list as I complete things or add more items to the list. I also plan to keep track of how much I spend on each item because my goal is to make back what I spend on the novel in the first year following release. It would be awesome to know what I spend on each novel to know what I’m going to make off it as well, and so I can improve my plan with each novel that follows.
That being said, if you are interested in becoming an indie author and would like to know how much goes into it, feel free to let me know. If I have enough interest in it, I’ll make a blog post specifically about it. Otherwise, I’ll just message those people directly. I know I love it when people mention how their journey is going, and how much it’s costing to get there.
Amy Tasukada, an M/M author, makes monthly vlogs about her journey as a self-published author and goes over her spending and her royalties.
Chris Fox is another who has done videos on how much he’s made versus spent on his books.
